Mk.2 of our favourite sounding harmonic trem ever!
...a few beers in Athens and the idea for Harmonious Monk was born: a tremolo pedal that has both Harmonic and Amplitude modes… that also addressed the issues we had with our favourite existing examples of the breed. Namely, it needed a master volume to go above and below unity gain; we wanted some form of EQ control to balance with all rigs; enough adjustability in the effect depth and mix to sit it perfectly in your tone; and finally, we really wanted it to be all analogue for that unmistakeable richness of tone, depth and feel.
Mk.2 adds tap tempo, a ramp mode, an extra LFO shape and an internal trimmer for input gain/headroom.
Jannis and the team and JAM have done an incredible job. We are absolutely over the moon with how it has turned out, not to mention extremely proud of the opportunity to work at such an uncompromising level of build and finish.
KEY FEATURES
Our love for harmonic and amplitude tremolo deepens ever further with Harmonious Monk Mk.2
TAP & RAMP MODE
You can now tap the time of your tremolo using the second switch, but a longer press will ramp to a second speed that can be set anywhere you like.
You can also set the rate of the ramp between the two speeds.
3 tremolo shapes
There are now three selectable LFO waves shapes (Mk.1 had two) providing varying shapes of modulation in both Harmonic and Amplitude modes: sine wave, square wave and reverse sawtooth. That means you can dial in everything from subtle, vintage-inspired tremolos all the way to otherworldly staccato intensity for true sonic warriors.
LEGACY MODE
V2 also has a Legacy mode, so everything you know about V1 can remain intact if you prefer it that… with an additional option on the rate of the second, preset speed: you can choose either 1.5x or 2x speed increase.
internal trimmers
Inside the HM Mk.2, there are internal trimmers for bass, middle and treble EQ on the effected signal. The circuit also has more available headroom, with an input gain trimmer to optimise for environments other than a simple guitar rig. For example for keys, valve preamps and effects loops. They come set how we like 'em!
